Robert McGill (writer)
Robert McGill (born 1976) is a Canadian writer and literary critic. He was born and raised in Wiarton, Ontario.〔http://www.writersunion.ca/member/robert-mcgill〕 His parents were physical education teachers.〔http://communications.uwo.ca/western_news/stories/2006/April/western_reads_winner_comes_to_london.html〕 He graduated from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario in 1999. He attended the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, then completed the MA program in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia.〔http://queensjournal.ca/story/2006-02-17/arts/alum-makes-waves-debut-novel/〕 After graduating with a PhD in English from the University of Toronto, Robert moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts and took up a Junior Fellowship with the Harvard University Society of Fellows.〔http://robert-mcgill.com/about/〕 He now teaches Creative Writing and Canadian Literature at the University of Toronto.〔http://www.english.utoronto.ca/grad/programs/MA_CRW_Faculty.htm〕
